Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Heritage Standard (“Heritage Standard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, applications, and home-health services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Your name and, optionally, your phone number, which you provide when creating your account, and your email address, which we also use to sign you in through email “magic links.”
- Home and property information. Your home address and ZIP code, along with details about your home, its systems and assets, and photos or documents you upload.
- Inspection and service data. Home Health Scores, inspection findings, the fixes you approve, snooze, or decline, and the status of work performed.
- Payment information. Subscription and billing details. Card and bank details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe; we do not store full payment card numbers.
- Communications. Messages, requests, and other content you exchange with us or with service partners through the Services.
- Usage and device information. Log data, device and browser information, and similar technical information collected automatically when you use the Services.
- Service-professional enquiries. If you are a service professional and contact us through one of our partner pages, we collect your company name, your name, your email address and, if you provide it, your phone number, along with your service ZIP code, trade, team size, the field-service software you use, and anything you write in the notes field. We use this information only to evaluate the enquiry and follow up with you about a possible partnership. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
If you answer the questions in a partner-page quiz without submitting an enquiry, we record only which step was reached and which answer range was chosen, counted by day. Those counts contain no name, email, IP address, or other identifier, and cannot be traced back to you or to any individual visitor.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services.
- Schedule and coordinate inspections, prioritize findings, and verify completed work.
- Coordinate approved fixes with field-service partners on your behalf.
- Process subscriptions and payments.
- Communicate with you about your account, scores, findings, and service updates.
- Maintain the security of the Services and comply with our legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information.
- Field-service partners. When you approve a fix, we share the information needed to schedule and complete the work (such as your name, address, and the relevant finding) with the handyman, HVAC, roofing, plumbing, or other partner performing it. Partners may operate on scheduling platforms such as Housecall Pro, Jobber, or ServiceTitan.
- Service providers. Vendors that help us operate the Services, including our payment processor (Stripe) and hosting, acting on our behalf under contract.
- Notifications provider (Novu). We use Novu to deliver maintenance reminders and other product notifications, ahead of completing our standard vendor security review for it (its SOC 2 report, signed data processing agreement, and subprocessor list are not yet in hand). What Novu receives is limited to your name, contact details, and the notification content itself — task name, urgency, and a deep link, never your street address, Home Health Score, or finding details.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Heritage Standard, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, maintain your home’s history and records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information indefinitely.
Service-professional enquiries. If your enquiry does not become a partnership, we delete it 24 months after you submit it. That deletion is permanent and covers both the enquiry itself and our internal record of how it was handled, whatever stage it reached — including enquiries we followed up on and enquiries we set aside. If your enquiry does become a partnership, we keep the information as part of that ongoing business relationship rather than deleting it on this schedule. The day-level quiz counts described in section 1 contain no identifiers and may be kept indefinitely.
5. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices and rights
You may review and update your account information, and you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable law. We will respond to requests consistent with those laws. Note that some information may be retained as described in Section 4.
7. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
